For a while, I loved it so much that I came to Gallaghers almost every week... It's near Midtown, very convenient, you need to make a reservation in advance ~ walk in is also available but there is a long wait (food is also long) For starters, there is a cinnamon flavor of jujube cake . It is so delicious that I would call it the cake of life rib steak: $76 every time I must order dry aged ribeye, medium is very juicy, if it is medium well will not be hard at all; Can not choose the size, a 23oz, a person to eat a little too much, you can share two people, you can call the store to help slice; The honey steak sauce with dry age is also super delicious (blood will run off during the process of dry age, so the meat is not fishy at all, the dry age method costs a lot and requires professional venue equipment, and it costs about $70+ to buy raw cooked steak by yourself, which makes Gallagher's price very conscious). New York Sirloin $67: Also good, leaner meat than ribeye ~ this for a healthier choice, much less fat than ribeye (almost none) but also juicy and not dry, personally I prefer ribeye (no picture hh) crab cake: $27 love, fresh and full crab meat, large mouth crab meat is very satisfied, I have eaten the best crab cake. The cucumber salad was delicious. The crab cake sauce was delicious gorgonzolla salad: $16 The whole is sour, baby greens, tomato, raw onion, red wine vinegretie, the cheese is very rich, the vinaigrette is sour, it is very refreshing with the steak, Tomatoes are large chunks of beef steak potato BTW has a lunch set at $34/ person. The meat is also delicious but there is much less meat, mainly potatoes and vegetables. The starter dish is clam chowder. salmon is also a good choice for the main dish in the Lunch set

Excellent time today overall. Had the sirloin and the wedge, plus a few martinis. Spoiler alert I sent my first steak back. I have never done that before. With that said it was simply a mistake and I had to, and the server handled it respectfully. Mis-cooked steak without a doubt, which happens. Ordered medium rare and got more of a medium/medium-well. When you are spending for a great steak you owe it to yourself and the establishment to get what you pay for. And ultimately that's what happened. The steak I ended up eating was marvelous. We are talking buttery and dry-aged flavor throughout, simply seasoned with salt and grilled over hickory charcoal. Really one of the better steaks I've had and lived up to the hype. Even with the mis-cooked steak that I first got, I don't care, and this place deserves its props. Service is A+, drinks were A+, and overall meal was an A. Will be back.

Filet mignon was excellent. I think it was wet aged though this place has dry aged also. Ceasars salad as good as any. Other side mash potato's so so.

Fun, but a bit too noisy if you want to have a nice conversation. Steaks were good but not great.

Definitely can't complain about a $34 set lunch, that includes steak, that's steps from Times Square, with wood paneling, Servers in old school attire wheeling serving carts, and Sinatra music setting the mood. Highly recommend.

Great food and great service. There were at least three people watching over us. The food came timely and was delicious.

Had a really enjoyable pre-show lunch at Gallagher's on a Sunday. Easy to make a res on OpenTable, got their at opening and they honored our reservation even though it was for 15 minutes later. The inside feels very steakhouse - which is what we wanted. We were lucky to be there during Restaurant Week and they had pretty solid price fix options. I brought my 6 year old daughter, and even though they didn't have a kids menu, she was more than happy to order the price fix and get her own filet. The service was stupendous. Everyone working our table was attentive, checking in on us, taking care of everything we needed, and were friendly and funny. The wedge salad wasn't huge, but I really didn't need anymore. The filets were perfectly cooked and they kindly subbed out sides for my little one. The desserts were too notch - I recommend the key lime pie! It was my daughter's favorite part of the meal! We'll definitely be back when we're in for a show. Recommend you give them a shot!

Solid Restaurant Week lunch special ($30 for starter/entree or $34 if you want both and a dessert). Went with the optional $18 supplemental filet as it comes with mashed potatoes and creamed spinach which we thought was a better value vs ordering them separately as sides. Tables are a bit cramped together as the restaurant was completely packed but service is attentive and friendly. Has all the charms of a proper, old-school NYC steakhouse and meat was cooked well. I wish I could have tried some of their more iconic dishes like their prime rib or porterhouse options but was pleased with the menu. Note that for those unable to get a reservation, the bar was pretty full with folks lined up outside by 11:15AM (opens at 11:45AM and seating at 12PM).

Been wanting to try Gallaghers Steakhouse for a while. After all, it is a NYC staple. We started with the oysters and dumplings. Oysters were good, but the lobster and shrimp stuffed dumplings were phenomenal. For the meal, my partner and I both got the 10 oz filet. It was one of the best filets I've had in a long time, and cooked to the perfectly rare temp. For sides we got the creamed spinach which was so creamy and delicious. The waiter told us they had the 'best' cheesecake in NYC, so of course we had to top the night off with it. Definitely one of the better cheesecakes I've had, and sad I didn't have enough room to finish it! This is a big restaurant with an upper level. Classic NYC steakhouse ambience with dim lighting and crimson red furniture. I will be back someday!

Here's a review of our most recent visit to Gallaghers! We shared a meal, and the portion sizes were more than generous--there was plenty to go around. To start, we had the Clams Casino, which were fantastic. The Filet Mignon was the highlight--cooked to perfection and incredibly tender. For sides we had, the Sweet Potato Mash which was very good but it had a hint of cinnamon which isn't our favorite. The other side was Brussel Sprouts, they were crispy and full of flavor, easily some of the best we've had. We also had vodka martinis with blue cheese olives, and those olives were a absolutely delicious. My husband and I visit Gallagher's twice a year, and each time it's consistently excellent. Whether it's the food, the atmosphere, or the friendly service, it's always a great experience. Highly recommend it!
